You’ll find them cheapest for some of their kits compared to direct competitors with pricing around $70-$100, but more expensive on others. They’re top-priced kits, with advanced testing coming in at nearly $400. With all that said, you’ll find some of the tests are actually quite different from their rivals, even though they may be labelled as similar, the actual tests might look for a subtly different range of infections, functions or biomarkers.

The tests are easy to take if you follow the guided instructions and remain calm and patient. These are similar medical procedures to those used in hospitals and private healthcare facilities but simplified for home sample collection. The tests are listed like store products, you find what you want view the content and item specification, then add to cart if you want to buy the test. You need to register as part of the purchase process, there are no guest checkouts as myLab Box needs to retain some of your data as part of the experience.

Shipping

Shipping is free and pretty fast within 3-5 days. Shipping cut-off is 11am PST (1pm CST). Orders placed before the shipping cut-off might be shipped on the same day. Tests are delivered in discrete parcels and contain return packaging for you to send your samples back to the lab. If you order on a Friday before the cut-off your package could be shipped on Saturday morning. There are premium shipping options if you need an urgent test

Taking the test

The tests are all quite different in nature but are narrowed down by the sample collection method. With STD tests for example you might have to provide up to 3 samples, so you need to be careful and confident that you’ve followed the guidance and can successfully collect your own sample. Urine is collected and sent back in a small test tube, you might be required to provide a vaginal swab and blood is collected through a finger prick device which prompts a small trickle of blood flow which you collect in a vial.

Results

If you’re eager enough and receive your test package in good time, you can theoretically have a result back within 5-8 business days from when you first bought the kit. Failing that myLab Box advises that results can be available from as little as 3-5days from when the lab receives your samples. 

Your results are stored securely online as part of the account you set up during the purchase process. You can view your results online and take up any follow on support from the team if you need further medical care, there’s a free physician telemedicine consultation if you’re positive for an infection.

Grouped test kits

The bundled kits that range from analyzing around 5-10 different panels in each test are quite different, so there’s no common price point. Buy these vary from $100 up to $200 depending on the number of infections of functions that are being tested.
